This Year’s top Christmas Decor Trends…According to Instagram

As we approach the end of November, it’s almost time to dust off the Christmas boxes in the attic, get the festive tunes on and begin the annual decorating of the tree! This year, Instagram has an abundance of inspiration, particularly if you’d like to try something new. So we’ve rounded up some of our favourite looks to give you a little inspiration…

Traditional

Tartan ribbons, nutcrackers, reds and greens are the go-to colour palette if you’re planning a nostalgic theme this year. There’s so much you can do with this theme too as it’s basically Christmas ‘on-brand’. Bows, baubles and trinkets are available in abundance for this look!

Neutral Decor

If you prefer to keep things subtle so as not to clash with your existing decor, the neutral look is a popular one this year. Whites, golds and natural colours blend with the space, presenting a more seamless, subtle look.

Natural Decor

Nature is big in interiors as it is this year, so extending this theme into your Christmas look is nice and simple. Combining lush greens and warm caramels using natural materials gives a rustic, cosy look. To really master this trend, focus on foliage and accessorise with wildlife-themed decorations and ornaments.

Blush

Yes, you heard it – blush pink is in. Whilst you may think of pink decor as a bit garish, blush pink presents a warmer, cosy look. From foliage and flowers to baubles and feathers, blush is this year’s colour. Consider a white ‘snow effect’ tree to really set the look off.

Mantelscaping

Foilage on the mantelpiece is nothing new when it comes to Christmas decor. However, home accounts on Instagram are taking this to new heights with the mantelscaping trend. It’s all about making this area of the room the focal point with garlands and ornaments. Choose different sized decorations to really give your display some height – just be careful with candles (for obvious reasons!).
