TikTok has become a go to for tips, hacks and advice on a whole host of areas. From DIY haircuts to renovating kitchens, there’s a video for practically everything. When it comes to the home, organisiation is one of the most hotly searched topics – afterall a tidy home equals a tidy mind. So, we thought we’d round up some of the platform’s trending home organisation tips. 

The Cupboard Hack 

If you open your kitchen cupboard only to have a packet of crisps jump out and hit you on the head, then it may be time for this. Invest in a turntable to place your cans on and you’ll never have a disorganised cupboard again. 

Reusable bag storage

If you have an overflowing shopping bag drawer then take note. TikToker @maxieelise demonstrates how to neatly fold and store your reusable bags. Step one, grab a small plastic container, then follow her tutorial for folding the bags as flat as possible. Just a few minutes of folding will save you a lot of kitchen space! 

Tupperware lid organiser 

Yes, the old favourite – tupperware lids! They come in all shapes and sizes, making matching them with their container an actual nightmare. This is a nice simple hack that will save you heaps of time. Simply take a few desktop folders and sort large, medium and small lids separately instead of having them pile up in a drawer. 

Under the sink storage 

We’ve all been there – a bottle here, a bottle there, a few cloths slung in and before you know it, the cupboard under the sink is a minefield! Avoid that with some simple storage. Clear perspex boxes are ideal for storing bottles so you can see where everything is and plastic boxes are great for cloths. If you’re feeling super organised, get your boxes and baskets labelled up!

Hooks for cups 

If your cup cupboard is overflowing, invest in a few hooks and screw them to the top of the cupboard doubling up the space for storage. 

Wire rack your lipstick drawer

When you’re in a rush, the last thing you need is a 20 minute rummage through your make-up drawer. Using a wire rack, you can simply insert each lipstick into its own slot meaning you can see everything without rummaging! 

Roll your towels 

Towels take up soooo much room! Especially in smaller bathrooms so, to save space, simply roll your towels and neatly store them in a cupboard or a wicker basket.
